Structural stability analysis and monitoring of the historic brick-built “Moncanino Tower”.
Studio Masera Ingegneria has carried out a technical evaluation of the tower’s stability in relation to its geometric shape and the masonry’s mechanical parameters.
The work has been organized as follows:
- geometrical and architectural evaluation;
- structural monitoring of the tower;
- damage assessment;
- stability analysis and identification of the local and global failure mechanisms.
Studio Masera Ingegneria has carried out geological and geotechnical investigation, architectural evaluation, damage identification and life-time prediction, mechanical testing on the masonry specimens and interpretation data, structural monitoring of the tower’s vertical axis and tower modelling by means of the Finite Element Method (FEM).
