PROJECT DESCRIPTION
North West Engineering has developed the preliminary structural design for the congress centre in the “New Marina Casablanca” tourist compound. The congress centre will comprise an auditorium with 800 seats, a multi-function room for 2000 people, a ballroom for 2000 people, 8 meeting rooms and an observation platform with wellness and restaurant areas. The total area of the congress centre is 40,000 square metres over five main storeys. The foundations, columns and floors of the congress centre will be in reinforced concrete whereas the long-span roof will be in steel. The foundations will consist of a solid reinforced concrete slab, 80 centimetres thick; rectangular columns will be in reinforced concrete; the long-span roof will be built using a series of steel trusses.
