MASERA ENGINEERING GROUP does research work with the Structural, Geotechnical and Building Engineering Department of the Polytechnic University of Turin where Davide Masera holds the post of Assistant Professor of Structural Mechanics. Research concentrates on the following areas:
- Linear and Non-Linear Ultrasound Techniques to study cracking phenomena in concrete and masonry structures;
- damage evolution and lifetime prediction of concrete and masonry structures interpreted by Acoustic Emission Technique;
- structural mechanics and damage analysis of concrete and masonry structures strengthened with polymeric materials such as Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP);
- cyclic fatigue and creep phenomena in concrete and masonry structures
The Research Group can offer clients advanced design support in all areas of specialisation. In complex cases, design begins with development of an “ad hoc” structural model in order to understand the difficulties to be faced and then MASERA ENGINEERING GROUP engineers go to the design and assessment stage.
MASERA ENGINEERING GROUP has had a number of scientific papers published in both national and international journals and presented at conferences resulting from a wide range of research work carried out during Davide Masera’s academic and professional career.
